Our artisan tradition of Murano Burano and the atmosphere of the picturesque villages. Hear from your local guide who is knowledgeable about the islands' heritage and their secret stories. Enter authentic workshops of local artisans. Watch in awe as they create intricate handcrafted pieces. If you want I can organize for you a beautiful and relaxing tour that includes a visit to Venice and the islands of the Venetian lagoon by private water taxi. We can meet around 10:00 am Murano is located north of Venice in the lagoon and is famous all over the world for glass blowing. The tour includes a visit to one of the most typical furnaces where you can admire the glass blowing technique and see how the master blows and shapes the glass in front of your eyes, which will be a truly unique experience. From Murano we go directly to Torcello a truly enchanting island rich in history, a magical place, where you can discover the origins of Venice and relive an atmosphere of the past ... between nature, silence and art It is here that it all originated, it was the first power center that developed in the lagoon as well as one of the oldest and most prosperous. Rich in churches, monasteries and a fervent economic center until the decline following the birth of nearby Venice, in fact more than any other island it preserves the evidence of the birth of the first lagoon settlements. Thanks to some findings we are aware that here there was a glass workshop, metallurgical, artisanal and above all commercial activities, well before Rialto, that is of Venice. In fact, in 1272 a resolution of the Venetian Senate allowed this type of processing only here. Today the island retains the memory of its ancient splendor, such as the Church of Santa Fosca, the Devil's Bridge, Attila's throne, the Archaeological Museum and the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, the oldest building in the entire lagoon. To the ancient charm of the island, there is also the Cipriani inn so loved by Hemingway whose passion for Venice and the lagoon was the setting for the novel Across the River and into the Trees but also for other celebrities who love its peace and privacy. Today there are 11 people living there, it seems that once there were at least 30,000 it is difficult to imagine it so populated seeing it now. From Torcello ,after lunch ,we go to visit Burano .
The island of Burano is the most picturesque town in the lagoon with narrow alleys and houses painted in the colors of the rainbow. Burano is famous above all for fishing and for the art of lace. During this stage we will take a nice walk through the colorful streets of the island and there will be the opportunity to visit a typical lace-making site We need to consider 6/7 Venice Murano private taxi Murano Torcello Torcello

Taste of Venice
A tour to discover the real “taste” of Venice” that will introduce the guest’s to the most typical venetian food, cichetti (hors d’oevres), served with an ombra (glass) of wine. Typical Venetian cicheti are fried crab claws, meat balls, half boild eggs with anchovies, fried vegetables, moscardini (tiny octopus) with polenta, soppressa with polenta and toasted bread with creamed cod, i.e. cooked in milk and then creamed. However, the best hors d’oeuvre by far are the sardee in saor: these are sardines cooked and marinated with onions and vinegar and flavored with raisins and pine nuts.
We can start with a drink, an aperitif, with a typical Spritz and then move on to visit some of the most famous “bacari ” (sort of pubs where people meet to drink wine and dine) in Venice and I will tell legends and folkloristic stories about animated “calli” and discover the true tastes of Venice.
THE ORIGIN OF SOME VENETIAN WORDS
Bacari: from Baccus, God of Wine, Theatre, and Ecstasy
Cicheti: from the latin word “ciccius”, which means a very small quantity
Ombra Ombra in Italian means shade. In Venice there were wine sellers in St. Mark’s Square who, in the hot summer months, set their tables in the shade of the bell tower. As the shade moved around the square during the day, the wine sellers kept moving also, so they would always have their stand in the shade, keeping themselves (and the wine) cool.
Spritz: The history of this drink is murky and disputed, possibly involving Austro-Hungarian occupiers in the 18th century. Is it they who put the olive in there? No one seems to know for certain. Sweet, bitter, citrusy and sparkling — even slightly salty — but with minimal punch, it is a graceful segue for an empty stomach to begin an evening, and a thing of perfection on a sultry afternoon.
Cost per person: TBD
Meeting Point: Hotel/Seaport/Airport/Train Station or Other according to your needs
Dolce vita tour
Italians are famous all over the world for their “Dolce Vita” … but what does this phrase actually mean?
La Dolce Vita is an attitude, a life-style that reconciles the frenetic, at times stressful rhythms of every-day life, with the time to savor beauty, to indulge in pleasures and to satisfy the senses.
La Dolce Vita (literally “sweet life”) is therefore a “good life”, worth living no matter what: it is spending as much time as possible with our loved ones, whether family members (who we deeply love and from whom we reluctantly part), or friends (the “family we choose”!). It is treating us daily with good food (cornerstone of our culture), which we not only prepare with passion, but above all taste at leisure. It is enjoying the little pleasures of the world (like wine, music…) without ever exaggerating, but seeking instead that perfect compromise that poet Horace called “aurea mediocritas”: the golden moderation!
So come and live “La Dolce Vita” in one of the most beautiful settings of the world: Venice! Let us have a relaxing stroll off the touristic routes, to discover the most unusual and authentic corners of the city. Let us enjoy the views, savor the play of light and the sound of the water around us, while stopping in three typical restaurants to savor delights such as “cicchetti” and a glass of local wine!
If you wish, we can dedicate one hour of the tour to a small cruise on the Grand Canal (the main waterway of Venice) aboard a luxury private motorboat. Comfortably sitting on a soft sofa we will thus travel “in-style”, admiring the most famous monuments of the city and the most evocative minor canals …We will enjoy every moment of this tour and, in so doing, truly experience “La Dolce Vita” for one day!
