Sorrento (Campania)

Sorrento is a town overlooking the Bay of Naples in Southern Italy. A popular tourist destination, it can be reached easily from Naples and Pompeii as it is at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. The Sorrentine Peninsula has views of Naples, Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri. The Amalfi Drive, connecting Sorrento and Amalfi, is a narrow road that threads along the high cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea. Ferries and hydrofoils connect the town to Naples, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Ischia. Sorrento's sea cliffs and luxury hotels have attracted celebrities including Enrico Caruso and Luciano Pavarotti. Limoncello is a digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar which is produced in Sorrento. Other agricultural production includes citrus fruit, wine, nuts and olives.

Pasta e lenticchie is a classic wintry first course that’s earthy, nutty and easy to prepare in under 30 minutes.

Recipes

This recipe originated in an ancient Roman cookbook and was named after Baiae, a then-fashionable resort town near the bay of Naples, where wealthy ancient Romans including Emperor Nero had homes.

Recipes

The best known version of this iconic dessert, Neapolitan pastiera, is made with whole wheat berries. But there’s a much less labor-intensive twist that uses pasta instead.

Recipes

Filled with the flavors of the area — anchovies from Cetara, black olives of Gaeta, raisins, pine nuts and tender escarole — this first course is a classic Christmas Eve favorite in Naples.

@ndaly asks:

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone can give any guidance on if there are licensed architects or drafts-persons who can work virtually with owners on drawing plans for home renovation in Italy (Naples)

Any insight to this process would be so helpful.

@ralph_1 asks:

What is the fax machine number for torre del Greco commune?

I want to get a birth certificate for dual citizenship by blood.

I keep faxing to this number but it fails.
