Pieve di Cadore (Veneto)

Pieve di Cadore is a town in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto. "Pieve" means "Parish church". It is the birthplace of the Italian painter Titian. With its strategic location, the town was a medieval stronghold with fortifications, called the "walled city of the Veneto." The main sight is the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità ("Palace of the Magnificent Community"), built in 1447 by the eponymous council which then ruled the city. It has a merloned tower which was completed in 1491.

Recipes

A beloved classic from Venice, this dish is perfect for spring when fresh peas abound and can easily be adapted for vegetarians.

Recipes

Depending on the variety, bitter radicchio can be grilled, cooked in risottos or served in a salad, but this sweet recipe takes a different tack.

what are the best restaurants in Venice?

More of a comment than a question. I lived in Italy (Latina) for about a year (1979 and 1980). During that time I visited Venice roughly three times through out the seasons. During each visit, I was able to walk on St Mark's Square without getting my feet wet.
