Grosseto (Tuscany)

Grosseto is a city and comune in the central Italian region of Tuscany. The city is known as the political and cultural center of the Maremma – Tuscany’s wilder, coastal territory, often overlooked by tourists. The city center is dense, closed off by a beautifully preserved, circular medieval wall, now used as a public park and walking area. Within it, there are plenty of treasures well worth visiting, including the Romanesque cathedral, the main monument of the city, named for its patron St. Lawrence, the Church of San Francesco, the Palazzo Aldobrandeschi. It's worth visiting the Maremma Natural Park, a 9,000 hectare green oasis extending along the stretch of coast between Principina a Mare and Talamone.

Recipes

Ribollita is a hearty but healthy soup from the Tuscan cucina povera tradition — the perfect thing to make on a chilly weekend.

Recipes

It’s universal: Every country with a coastline has its many seafood stews. In Italy, Tuscany has two that spark fierce debate: cacciucco alla viareggina from Viareggio and cacciucco alla livornese from Livorno. Today, we make the case for the Livorno version.

Recipes

Simple to make and not too sweet, buccellato is a traditional aromatic dessert bread of Lucca. It’s said that if you come to town and don’t try it, you may as well never have visited.

@yas_1 asks:

Hello this may sound trivial but does anyone know where I can find a cleaner for my house in Tuscany near Grondola? I am not always at my house and would love to find an young or old lady that will take up such duties for me.

@yas_1 asks:

Can anyone help? I am also having problems with Enel. They seem unfit for purpose sending overpriced bills not being able to contact them. Continually being told they will contact me.

@Babs asks:

Hi, can anyone help on this site please?
